Posted on

The dreams of Neil Gaiman fans will come true when a new documentary about the Sandman scribe and all-around fantasy overlord is released on Vimeo on July 8.

Titled Neil Gaiman: Dream Dangerously and directed by Patrick Meaney, features contributions from Bill Hader, Michael Sheen, Lenny Henry, Wil Wheaton, Amanda Palmer, Karen Berger, Grant Morrison, Jill Thompson, Kirsten Vangsness, Lev Grossman, Stoya, the late Sir Terry Pratchett, George R.R. Martin, Jonathan Ross, John Barrowman, Phillip Pullman, and Gaiman. The film is a collaboration between Respect! Films and Sequart Organization.

In an exclusive clip from the documentary, Gaiman recalls agonizing over a lucrative offer to be features editor at Penthouse UK. “If I take this job, I am financially secure. My income will go up by three times. It would all work,” Gaiman says in the video. “And I thought no, I can’t do it; I would be walking away from the mountain, and the mountain I’m walking towards is writing fiction.”
