When director Mike Flanagan (Hush, Oculus) recently appeared on the Shock Waves podcast, the filmmaker made clear that his horror sequel Ouija: Origin of Evil (out Oct. 21) is a very different kettle of supernatural fishy business from 2014’s rather lackluster, if successful, Ouija. And the film’s new trailer seems to bear that out.
Set in 1965 Los Angeles, Flanagan’s film concerns a widowed mother and her two daughters who add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. Ouija: Origin of Evil stars Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Doug Jones, Parker Mack, Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel, Annalise Basso, and Lulu Wilson.
