Stephen Colbert is going live and loud for the upcoming political conventions.

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will present two weeks of live shows from July 18-21, which coincides with the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, and from July 25-28, for the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. The shows — which should give the former host of The Colbert Report a chance to show off his political savvy — will air live at 11:35 p.m. on the East Coast. (That edition will be rebroadcast for the West Coast audience).

Alas, these telecasts won’t be hosted by Colbert at the conventions; they’ll be filmed at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York. But The Late Show will have an “on-site presence” at the conventions for those two weeks of shows.
