Independence Day website turns your street into a smoldering crater

Posted on

Thanks to a previous Independence Day: Resurgence trailer, we already knew alien invaders like to get the landmarks. Now disaster junkies will be happy to know they can witness ordinary buildings being reduced to rubble too.

To promote director Roland Emmerich’s latest action extravaganza, 20th Century Fox has unveiled Independence Day My Street, a website that simulates an extraterrestrial bombardment at the location of your choosing.

Type in the address of your home, school, office, etc., and it’ll soon be annihilated to the sounds of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son.” You can also click and drag the view in 360 degrees, so it’s kind of like the street view on Google Maps with way more explosions.
