For the next NFL season, Carrie Underwood’s weekly Sunday Night Football theme song will pull from her personal catalogue instead of Joan Jett’s.

SNF executive producer Fred Gaudelli confirmed the change Monday, according to the Associated Press. The new theme song will be a reworked version of Underwood and Lambert’s 2014 collab “Somethin’ Bad” instead of Jett’s 1988 song “I Hate Myself for Loving You.” Pop singer P!nk premiered the theme “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” based on Jett’s song, in 2006, and country star Faith Hill performed it from 2007 to 2012 until Underwood took the reins.

“The song had lasted 10 years, but I didn’t know how much more we could stay with the song without it feeling routine,” Gaudelli said.

The Grammy-winning Underwood said she reworked the arrangement and the words for “Somethin’ Bad” — presumably to make them more football-related — and played a demo for Gaudelli. “It has such a great stomp-clap, a ‘We Will Rock You’ kind of feel to it,” Underwood described the new theme. “This is such a high-energy song.”

Underwood’s new version will debut Sept. 11, when the Arizona Cardinals play the New England Patriots.
