Jimmy Fallon Father's Day rap is a salute to dads, by dads

Posted on

With Father’s Day on Sunday, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon paid tribute to dads everywhere Friday night in the dad-est way possible.

The funnyman asked dads watching at home to film themselves rapping an original song written by Tariq from The Roots. The results were pretty spectacular, but Fallon compiled his favorite moments into an even more spectacular music video titled “Father’s Day Dad Rap.”

“We got tons of great submissions, so thank you for those,” Fallon said. Watch it in the video above.

Earlier in the episode, Fallon interviewed fellow dad Tony Hale, who revealed watching Frozen with his daughter stresses him out. “Elsa zaps her sister into a coma. That’s a lot,” he said, later adding, “Oh, and I didn’t mention, the parents have died in a boating accident. As a father, I don’t know, it’s just a lot to watch.”
