Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa aren’t just touring and, uh, having a good time: they’re making music.
Snoop tapped Wiz to appear on his new song, “Kush Ups,” an undeniable rap track and deviation from the West Coast rapper’s reggae and R&B forays. The track serves as the first single for Snoop’s new record, COOLAID, his first rap album in five years.
After briefly becoming Snoop Lion for Reincarnated and recruiting Pharrell last year for the carefree and fun Bush, it’s all rap again for Snoop. He had only two words to mark his first album since the 2011 Khalifa collab, Mac & Devin Go to High School: “I’m back!” He also released a solo rap effort in 2011, titled Doggumentary.
The “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang” rapper performed another future COOLAID track, “Fireworks” featuring Swizz Beatz, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week.
Hear “Kush Ups” above or buy it on iTunes. COOLAID — with Jeremih, Just Blaze, and E-40 on board as featured artists— drops July 1.
Snoop and Wiz hit the road for their High Road Summer Tour on July 20 in Palm Beach, Florida.
