Your daily guide to the most interesting stuff happening on TV and streaming. All times Eastern.

PICK OF THE WEEKEND

Comedy Bang! Bang!

IFC, Friday, 11 p.m.

Scott Aukerman’s surreally meta late-night talk show returns for another season, but now it’s packing some extra heat: Weird Al Yankovic is the new bandleader. If you don’t like the sound of that, well, then, you can just eat it

SERIES DEBUT

Outcast

Cinemax, Friday, 11 p.m.

You’ve got Robert Kirkman, the guy behind The Walking Dead. You’ve got Patrick Fugit, the kid (now all grown up) from Almost Famous. You’ve got a spooky supernatural premise, with premium-cable freedom. But… is it any good? Possibly. Check out our critic’s review here.

SERIES DEBUT

The Vet Life

Animal Planet, Saturday, 10 p.m.

The show follows a trio of animal docs in the Lone Star State, where the local population includes the Texas longhorn, the long-nosed armadillo, and the sheepish Ted Cruz.

MUSIC MIX

Governors Ball 2016

Viceland, Sunday, 9 p.m.

A suspenseful drama about gangsters and politicians who get caught up in… just kidding, it’s the music festival, which Vice’s network will air live on TV. Sunday’s headliners are Death Cab for Cutie and Kanye West.

SERIES DEBUT

Feed the Beast

AMC, Sunday, 10 p.m.

A darkly comic drama about old pals rebuilding their wrecked lives and frayed friendship by opening a fancy restaurant in the Bronx? Starring a mopey David Schwimmer and druggy Jim Sturgess? I, for one, am curious enough to take the 6 train and check it out.
