Nick Jonas is obsessed with Emilia Clarke’s Instagram

As EW’s latest cover shoot reveals, Nick Jonas might not have the “dad bod” Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is after, but he can still dream about winning a role opposite her on the show when he scrolls through her Instagram account, an activity the “Close” singer revealed is one of his favorite pastimes.

The 23-year old pop star made a surprise appearance on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 1 show, where Clarke was a scheduled guest promoting her new movie, Me Before You, coming face to face with the woman behind an Instagram account he frequently views.

Jonas said he previously met Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the popular HBO show, at an Oscars after party, where he nervously introduced himself — and revealed his obsession with her social media profile.

“It wasn’t like ‘I’m a fan of your show,’ actually that was a part of it, but I was like, ‘I’m also a fan of your Instagram,’ which I don’t know if that’s a weird thing to say,” Jonas said of his first encounter with the London native. “That was maybe after one or two cocktails that I said that. I was highly embarrassed.” Clarke added: “I found it very flattering. I’m proud of that Instagram.”

When Grimshaw questioned why the youngest JoBro is so enamored with Clarke’s profile, he said: “She posts great stuff, insight into the show, behind-the-scenes pictures and stuff.”

Grimshaw then suggested Jonas audition for a role on the series.

“I don’t think they would hire me,” Jonas said. “Yes! Yes! Oh my God, let’s ask them now! David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] if you’re listening… I’ll email them. I’m going to email them now.” Clarke offered. “You can ride a dragon, honey. It’s okay!”
