BrainDead: Good Wife team creates new CBS summer show

Posted on

Washington, DC is going crazy, or at least that’s the premise for BrainDead, a comic thriller series from The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King.

In the newest promo for the CBS show, something strange is afoot — and not just because ’80s pop song “You Might Think” by The Cars keeps popping up. The satirical series follows a young, fresh-faced Capitol Hill staffer (May Elizabeth Winstead) who discovers the government has stopped working, and that “bugs” have invaded Washington, devouring the brains of politicians and staffers.

“We wanted to do a show that was a mix of genre-pulp and high-brow politics – The Strain crossed with The West Wing,’” executive producers Robert and Michelle King told EW last summer. “It seemed like the best way to address the news today – not straight, but as the opening act of a horror movie.”

BrainDead — which also stars Danny Pino, Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, and Johnny Ray Gill — premieres Monday, June 13 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
