PICK OF THE NIGHT

Kingdom

AT&T’s Audience Network, 9 p.m.

Tuesday brought Peaky Blinders. Today we bring you: Hunky Brawlers! The fight club’s midseason premiere promises tons of drama, too, with Ryan and Jay battling for the championship belt. Naturally, this will put Alvey — who trains both fighters and also birthed one of them — in quite a pickle. For more on the showdown, and other upcoming developments, check out our interview with creator Byron Balasco here.

SEASON PREMIERE

American Ninja Warrior

NBC, 8 p.m.

The popular competition series kicks off with countrywide qualifying rounds that will determine who’s good enough to move on to the national finals in Las Vegas. Spoiler: It wasn’t me!

SPLASH THE MUSICAL

iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party

The CW, 8 p.m.

With Joe Jonas and Hailee Steinfeld co-hosting the Miami Beach-set concert alongside The Fat Jew, what could go wrong? Throw in performances from Tinashe, Jason Derulo, Flo Rida, Lukas Graham, and more, and it seems like it’s an event worth keeping tabs on.

SERIES DEBUT

Cleverman

SundanceTV, 10 p.m.

In the market for some good ol’ fashioned message sci-fi? Perhaps you’ll enjoy this social allegory, which takes place in a sideways Sydney in which humans coexist with “Hairies,” wolf-like people taken from aboriginal mythology. Think along the lines of the movie District 9 and the TV show Humans, only a lot furrier.

SEASON PREMIERE

The Night Shift

NBC, 10 p.m.

That one sorta weird, very intense San Antonio-set hospital drama that you become somewhat aware of every summer returns for its third season with a two-episode extravaganza that revolves around a grisly car accident. And while The Night Shift won’t include Michelle Obama and Jill Biden cameos like last year, they were able to snag AnnaLynne McCord. That’s something, right?
