The stars of Supergirl and Once Upon a Time are teaming up. Melissa Benoist is joining the comedy Sun Dogs, which marks Jennifer Morrison’s directorial debut.
Benoist has been cast along with Michael Angarano (The Knick), Allison Janney (Mom), and Ed O’Neill (Modern Family), a Caviar Content spokesperson confirmed to EW.
From writer Anthony Tambakis (Warrior), the film follows a young man (Angarano) whose failed attempts to join the Marines lead him to investigate a sketchy casino boss, who may or may not be a terrorist. He enlists a young runaway (Benoist) to help him on his mission.
Morrison recently created Apartment 3C Productions; Sun Dogs, which begins filming Friday, will be the first film under that banner.
Deadline first reported the news.
