Sarah Silverman fights with narrator in spoof trailer for Under Oath

NBC

Although Sarah Silverman is mostly known for her comedy roles (such as in the new movie Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), she’s dabbled in drama as well, recently earning a Screen Actors Guild nomination for her starring role in I Smile Back. For Silverman’s appearance on Late Night Thursday, she and Seth Meyers took it a step further in a spoof trailer for a fake drama called Under Oath.

The film appears to be about the failures of the American justice system, but the trailer mostly features Silverman getting into fights with the narrator for overlooking her talent while praising the star-studded cast, which theoretically included Sean Penn, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, and Edward Norton. Silverman, in fact, was the only non-Academy Award nominee in the fantasy cast, a fact the narrator constantly referenced. She eventually gets so frustrated that she tries to (unsuccessfully) walk right out of the trailer.
