After opening just one month ago on Broadway, the new musical Tuck Everlasting has already announced its closing.

The stage adaptation of Natalie Babbitt’s classic children’s novel will play its final performance on Broadway on May 29, following 28 previews and 39 performances at the Broadhurst Theatre, where Tuck Everlasting opened on April 26. The show began previews March 31.

Tuck features a book by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, music by Chris Miller, lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw.

Sarah Charles Lewis leads the cast as Winnie Foster, who stumbles upon the immortal Tuck family (Carolee Carmello, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Michael Park, and Robert Lenzi) and helps them conceal their unlimited existence from the villainous Man in the Yellow Suit (Terrence Mann).

The principal cast also includes Fred Applegate, Michael Wartella, Valerie Wright, and Pippa Pearthree.

Tuck Everlasting was nominated for one Tony Award for costume designer Gregg Barnes.
