Hillary Clinton is the likely Democratic nominee for president, but one thing remains unclear: Who will her running mate be?
Ellen DeGeneres put Clinton through the ringer to find out for a game of “Who’d You Rather?”
“We’ll keep switching … and we’re going to pick your vice president,” DeGeneres explained on the latest edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Scandal star Tony Goldwyn was an early favorite, picked ahead of Clinton’s opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders. Things got complicated when George Clooney’s name popped up. “Tony could be the first term, and George could be the second,” Clinton mused, picking Clooney over Goldwyn and some other possibilities.
Eventually, Beyoncé appeared and was handpicked. “I really believe in making lemonade out of lemons,” Clinton remarked of the singer. She picked Beyoncé over a host of famous faces (Leonardo DiCaprio and Drake), and even Chewbacca mom (Clinton still wanted the viral star around, however, because she makes everyone laugh). But Beyoncé was no match for First Lady Michelle Obama — “talk about somebody well prepared,” Clinton said — and no one could top the eventual winner: Ellen herself.
