Apocalypse may be the world’s oldest mutant, but he knows how to utilize social media!
On Monday Snapchat partnered with 20th Century Fox for a lens takeover, allowing users to transform their selfies into characters from the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film.
While the X-Men filters will only be around for 24 hours, the Snapchat team has made sure fans can choose from an array of characters on both sides of the battle. Storm, Beast, Professor X, Quicksilver, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Mystique, Magneto, and even the god-like Apocalypse are the nine options available to mutant-loving Snappers.
In addition, a swipe to Snapchat’s “Discover” section lets fans buy movie tickets through Fandango and MovieTickets.com.
The Snapchat filters are the latest promotion for the superhero film; last Thursday the retro “Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters” TV commercial, which featured Jubilee as host, went viral on YouTube.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters this Friday, May 27.
