Upfronts 2016: Vanessa Hudgens, Jaimie Alexander, celebrities reveal characters they want to play

Posted on

Even if TV actors and actresses are happy in their current lane, they can’t help but to have some role envy. There’s always a secret character they’d love to sink their teeth into. So who would it be?

Celebrities were pressed on this question at the PEOPLE and EW Upfronts Party in New York on Monday night.

Vanessa Hudgens went with a modern sitcom standout with endless optimism. “I love Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation,” she laughs.

Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander similarly picked a comedic performance. “I’m obsessed with Last Man on Earth.” she says. “If I was funny enough, I would love to be Kristen Schaal’s character, Carol.”

Some repeat answers popped up. Ben Feldman and Jerrod Carmichael handpicked Cheers’ Sam Malone, played by Ted Danson. Lucille Ball was selected by Mozhan Marno, Dale Soules, and Elaine Hendrix. “She was such a ground-breaker on so many levels,” Hendrix explains.

See everyone’s answer above, including Famke Janssen’s surprise animal pick and which actress wants to be Breaking Bad‘s Walter White.
