On screen, their characters in The Devil Wears Prada weren’t exactly the best of friends as assistants to Meryl Streep’s icy and powerful magazine editor, Miranda Priestly. Off screen, though, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are all smiles reuniting this week at an event to celebrate, of all things, fashion.
In Los Angeles Thursday, the actresses — who went head-to-head, er, song-to-song, last year on Lip Sync Battle — honored the costumes of Alice Through the Looking Glass, where Hathaway stars as the White Queen. (Coincidentally, Blunt’s latest movie also finds her portraying royalty — Queen Freya — in The Huntsman: Winter’s War.)
It’s been 10 years since Prada hit theaters, earning nearly $327 million worldwide. Based on Lauren Weisberger’s book, the author wrote a sequel, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, which was published three years ago. While a movie sequel has not been officially announced, both Hathaway and Blunt have said they’d be up to reprise their roles, which finds the two characters, Andrea and Emily, working together at a popular bridal magazine.
