The adorable penguins will march again. March of the PenguinsMorgan Freeman, is getting a sequel, EW has learned.
The original film, directed by Luc Jacquet, followed the journey of emperor penguins from the South Pole to their breeding grounds. According to Deadline, Jacquet has been quietly shooting the sequel, titled March of the Penguins 2: The Call, which follows a young penguin who answers a mysterious call compelling the animals to venture to an unknown destination.
March of the Penguins won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2006 and went on to gross $127.4 million worldwide.
While Wild Bunch shops the project around Cannes, a narrator for the The Call has yet to be revealed.
Variety was the first to report news of the sequel.
