[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Wednesday’s episode of Survivor: Kaôh Rōng.]
Another one bites the dust. Or more accurately, bites into the steak kebab.
71-year-old Joe Del Campo won his first individual challenge. Unfortunately, that is exactly what did him in. Joe won this week’s reward contest, and the reward in question was a steak feast in which he indulged a little too much. The problems began when Joe then became constipated from the mountains of beef he ingested, causing him great pain and the possibility of suffering permanent kidney damage.
After one visit from the doctor did not alleviate the excruciating pain, Joe was medically evacuated from the game. It marks Survivor: Kaôh Rōng’s third medical evacuation, the most ever in a season. It also meant Tai did not have to play his now-powerless immunity idol, meaning none of the three idols found this season were ever used.
With Joe’s departure, Aubry, Cydney, Tai, and Michele are left to battle it for a million dollars in next week’s finale. My full recap (complete with updated Survivor season rankings) is now live, as is my Q&A with Jeff Probst and you can follow me on Twitter @DaltonRoss for more updates.
