Time away from The Daily Show has not dulled Jon Stewart’s tongue. The former host blasted presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as “a man-baby.” during a live recording of David Axelrod’s podcast.
During a live recording of David Axelrod’s podcast, The Axe Files, at the University of Chicago, Stewart told the former campaign strategist for President Barack Obama that he wasn’t sure if Trump was eligible to be president.
“It’s not a birther thing; I’m not a constitutional scholar, so I can’t necessarily say, but are you eligible to run if you are a man-baby, or a baby-man?” Stewart deadpanned. “I’m not here to be politically incorrect. … He is a man-baby. He has the physical countenance of a man, and a baby’s temperament and hands.”
Stewart and Trump have gone head-to-head before. In 2013, Trump noted Stewart did not go by his legal last name, Leibowitz, in his professional life. Stewart shot back by introducing a disparaging moniker as Trump’s “real” name in a Daily Show segment.
At the top of their hour-plus conversation, Axelrod asked Stewart if he felt his timing leaving The Daily Show before this presidential election was a celestial joke.

“How different is it, really? The media is, as usual, focused on the wrong things and abdicating responsibility for the general filtration of toxicity,” Stewart replied. “You have enormous amounts of money flowing into crazy people… If you took Sarah Palin’s head and jammed it onto Donald Trump’s body, would it make any more sense? Probably not.”
Stewart also criticized Hillary Clinton, calling her “a very bright woman without the courage of her convictions.”
