When it comes to accessories at the Met Gala, onlookers expect to see bejeweled headdresses, dangly earrings, and avant-garde necklaces. Not Lorde. The “Royals” singer adorned her pastel Valentino gown at this year’s ball with an arm cast.
But this is the Met Gala, so the 19-year-old’s arm attire wasn’t just your standard, itches-in-the-heat-and-smells-a-little-funky bandage. Throughout the night, she embellished her white plaster with signatures from quite a crew of stars, that included bestie Taylor Swift, a “best date ever” sign off from Lily Collins, and even the Yeezus logo — we really hope Kanye grabbed the sharpie himself.
Lorde posted a pic of her plaster on Instagram with the caption “if u ever wanna know who was at the 2016 met gala they’re all on my arm.”
She also posted a photo of Florence Welch leaving her mark.
Despite the unfortunate arm wear, we can assume the singer was otherwise perfectly poised and presented for Monday’s star-studded event, tweeting earlier in the day, “Faint sound on the upper east side this morning attributed to hundreds of pounds of body hair being waxed, shaved and trimmed #MetGala2016.”
