Prince: Minnesota Twins hosting tribute night

The Minnesota Twins are going all out to honor local legend Prince.

For Monday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians, the MLB team’s starting line-up all picked songs from The Purple One to be played whenever they walked up to the batter’s box. Hits from the ’80s, like “1999” and “Purple Rain,” mostly populate the list, but 1995’s “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” sneaks in courtesy of catcher Kurt Suzuki.

It’s just one aspect of Prince Tribute Night at Minneapolis’ Target Field. The team also asked fans to come decked in purple. Before first pitch at 7:10 p.m. CT, Prince’s tour DJ Dudley D will spin tracks by the late icon.

After Prince died Thursday at 57, the Twins displayed a giant picture of the artist on their scoreboard and added purple accents to the stadium’s smaller video screens.
