Remember when we said that Blindspot quadrangle was about to get even more complicated?

Exhibit A: As Jane (Jaimie Alexander) falls more in love with Oscar (Francois Arnaud), he decides to take a step back in this exclusive sneak peek from Monday’s episode. But is he doing it because he truly loves her or because it’s part of the mission? (More on that here.)

Elsewhere in the hour, Reade’s (Rob Brown) past is further explored when the team races to stop an active shooting on a college campus. “There’s a character played by Charles Brice, who Reade sees a lot of himself in,” Brown says. “There’s a question as to what went on in Reade’s childhood that might be explored a little bit. At the very least, we see almost a younger version of Reade that Reade tries to reach out to who is in really dire straights.”

Blindspot airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
