Prince dead: Looking back on his Oscar-winning moment

Prince’s first film also earned him his first (and only) Oscar: The musician, who died Thursday at age 57, nabbed the Best Original Song Score statue at 1984’s Academy Awards for that same year’s Purple Rain, for which he wrote the music and also starred.

“This is very unbelievable,” Prince, wearing a glittering hooded top, says in a clip from his acceptance speech. “I could never imagine this in my wildest dreams.”
