Michael Mann Books lands publishing deal with Harper Collins

Posted on

Everett Collection

Michael Mann’s new book imprint has found a home. EW has confirmed that Michael Mann Books has reached a multi-million dollar deal with Harper Collins. Deadline was the first to report the news.

The deal will start with three books. As previously announced and rumored, one of those books will be a prequel novel for Mann’s film Heat, following the origins of the characters so memorably played by Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro. Another will be a collaboration between Mann and The Cartel author Don Winslow, a novelization of the relationship between real-life mobsters Tony Accardo and Sam Giancana. Little information is available on the third book at this point, though it reportedly involves another “bestselling author” collaborating with Mann.
