Annet Mehendru may have bid her Americans character a final adieu, but her absence from FX will be short-lived. The actress has scored a recurring role on the channel’s political drama Tyrant for its upcoming third season.

Mehendru will play Nafisa Al-Qadi, the hard-nosed wife of Ma’an’s leader Sheik Al-Qadi. She also nabs title as the sister of a high-ranking Caliphate sympathasizer, adding increased strain to her husband’s torn allegiance between the Al-Fayeeds and Caliphate. She joins The Good Wife‘s Chris Noth as a new face this season.

In Tyrant‘s second season, Abbudin president Jamal (Ashraf Barhom) Al-Fayeed was shot, forcing his brother Barry (Adam Rayner) to reluctantly replace him. The season ended with Jamal’s survival in question.

The 10-episode third season will air on FX in 2016.
