It’s time to crown a new King George.
Saturday marked Jonathan Groff’s final performance in Broadway’s smash hit Hamilton, and creator-star Lin-Manuel Miranda gave him a sendoff fit for, well, royalty.
“Gnight Groffsauce. Thanks for being in the play with me,” Miranda tweeted, captioning a photo of the two (above).
The official Hamilton account also tweeted a photo of Groff in his full King George regalia, taken with a mid-1800s camera lens.

Tony nominee Rory O’Malley will take over for Groff beginning April 11. On Saturday, the Hamilton cast held a “coronation” for the fourth actor to play King George III in the musical.
Brian d’Arcy James, who was the original King George in Hamilton’s off-Broadway run, was also on hand for the occasion. See more tweets from Groff’s Hamilton farewell below.
