Since the debut of Game of Thrones, everyone from Armin van Buuren to TV on the Radio to the cast themselves have put their own spin on the HBO show’s theme. Now the dramatic melody gets the bluegrass treatment from Flatt Lonesome.

SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction channel picked the group to arrange the cover. After recording it in North Coralina at the studio of the band’s Mountain Home label, Flatt Lonesome performed it for SiriusXM Radio. It’s also available for purchase on iTunes

“When SiriusXM Radio asked us to work up a bluegrass rendition of the theme song to Game of Thrones, we thought they were joking,” the band wrote on Facebook. “After we realized that they weren’t, we accepted the musical challenge, and we hope you all enjoy it!”

Currently on a tour stop in Palm Beach, Florida, Flatt Lonesome is comprised of Kelsi Robertson Harrigill (mandolin, vocals), Charli Robertson (fiddle, vocals), Buddy Robertson (guitar, vocals), Dominic Illingworth (acoustic bass), Paul Harrigill (banjo), and Michael Stockton (resophonic guitar).

Hopefully their bluegrass vibes will get you hyped for the return of Game of Thrones, premiering its sixth season on April 24.
