Guns N’ Roses have hit a plaster speed bump. Frontman Axl Rose tweeted Friday that he broke a bone in his left foot. “This is what happens when you do something you haven’t done in nearly over 23 years,” the rocker wrote.

Rose also included a video featuring his foot specialist Dr. Rachel Triche. “Axl sustained a fracture of the fifth metatarsal, which is one of the bones in his foot,” Dr. Triche said. “So, Axl underwent what we call an open reduction internal fixation, where we go in and we put the bone pieces back together and realign them and we placed plate and screws in order to hold them in place while it’s healing.”

Guns N’ Roses are slated to perform Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas and next weekend at Coachella. “Of course the shows will go on!” a representative for the band said in a statement.

“Right now he’s in a cast and we’re limiting how much weight he’s putting on it,” Dr. Triche added. “He’s having his set, I think, designed for the stage so he can perform for everyone still.” And, in good news for fans who plan to see Guns N’ Roses’ extensive Not In This Lifetime summer tour, she concluded that Rose should only need to limit the weight on his foot for about four weeks.
