Meet the kids who get to spend more time with Cat Deeley than you do.
So You Think You Can Dance returns this summer with younger contestants than ever, and EW has your exclusive look at the first promo for the new season. Dancers between the ages of 8–13 will perform for new judge Maddie Ziegler (Dance Moms) and returning panelists Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo, and Nigel Lythgoe — who was inspired by a young dancer to comment last season, “We should be doing a show for kids.”

The young hopefuls will compete for their chance at a place in “The Academy,” where only the best will move on to the next round. Each member of the top 10 will then be partnered permanently with a SYTYCD All-Star to learn routines across all styles of dance, with one contestant going home each week.
“I’m telling you,” STYCYD alum and choreographer Travis Wall tells EW, “these kids are going to be incredible.”
So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation premieres May 30 on Fox. Check out the full promo above.
