A new true-crime series based on the JonBenét Ramsey murder case is in the works at CBS.
Sources tell EW that the network is in final negotiations with Emmy winner Tom Forman (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, 9/11) and Critical Content (previously known as Relativity Television) to produce an unscripted, limited-run series, with the potential to expand to a recurring series, focusing on a different case each season.
The series would unite the original team of investigators as well as new experts to re-examine the unsolved 1996 case of JonBenét Ramsey, a 6-year-old girl who was found dead in her Boulder, Colorado, home after her parents reported her missing. This Christmas will mark the 20th anniversary of her death.
The series could air as early as this fall.
