Fresh from the success of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Diane Lane is set to return to Broadway in a new production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard.
The Humans playwright Stephen Karam will adapt the 1904 original — Chekhov’s final production before his death — which tells the story of a matriarch leading her family back to their orchard as it faces foreclosure. Lane will play the lead role of Lyubov Ranevskaya, while Simon Godwin makes his Broadway debut as director.
