SNL: Peter Dinklage opening monologue tackles Game of Thrones rumors

All any Game of Thrones fan wants to know is the fate of Jon Snow, so Peter Dinklage took a moment during his opening monologue on SNL this weekend to clear the air.

“For those of you who do watch Game of Thrones, let’s get this out of the way — I have no idea if Jon Snow is really dead,” he said. “I even have the new scripts, but if I’m not in the scene, Petey no read-y.”

For any other concerns regarding the show, the actor turned the audience’s attention to George R.R. Martin (Bobby Moynihan), who illustrated how he puts together scenes for the books. He makes some crack about Lannister incest, has one of his female characters take her top off, and then pan to another scene somewhere in the kingdom. In this case, it was to Beck Bennet working on his night cheese.

It all finishes off with a shot of a dragon. “I’m the dragon. Woof! Woof!” said a costumed Leslie Jones. Watch the monologue below.

Game of Thrones will return for season 6 beginning April 24.
