Posted on

Oh yes, it’s happening again.

Syfy has announced the premiere date for the fourth installment of the Sharknado franchise, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens — Get it? It’s a play on Star Wars — which will debut Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET.

The next Sharknado picks up five years after the events of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, as Fin (Ian Ziering), his family, and the world have been blissfully sharknado-free in the intervening years. But now both sharks and ‘nados are being whipped up in places and ways you’d least expect.

Tara Reid will reprise her role as April, revealing the character’s fate after fans voted to decide whether she lives or dies in the sequel.

The cast also includes David Hasselhoff, Ryan Newman, Gary Busey, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Cheryl Tiegs.

Syfy promises more cameos will be announced ahead of the Sharknado: The 4th Awakens premiere. Director Anthony C. Ferrante and screenwriter Thunder Levin return for the fourth film.
