Elton John has denied claims that he sexually harassed his former bodyguard.

Jeffrey Wenninger is suing the singer for sexual harassment and battery, TMZ reports. The security worker says John made inappropriate verbal and physical advances on three occasions in 2014, alleging John once put his hands in Wenninger’s pants and attempted to touch his genitals and backside then, on another occasion, twisted his nipples.

John, 69, vehemently denies the allegations.

“This baseless lawsuit is brought by a disgruntled former security officer seeking to extract an undeserved payment,” John’s attorney, Orin Snyder, tells PEOPLE in a statement. “These claims are patently untrue and contradicted by numerous previous statements made by this plaintiff. We will not give into his latest abuse of the legal system.”

The allegations comes as the performer – who released his new album Wonderful Crazy Night last month – is gearing up for the next run of his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
