Although Tom Hiddleston is currently rumored to be one of the contenders for the next James Bond, the British actor’s most recent project found him playing a totally different icon: American country superstar Hank Williams. Hiddleston’s research for the role involved contacting Williams’ daughter and spending time with modern country singer Rodney Crowell. He even learned to yodel.
“Now I have to ask you to yodel, you realize that,” Kimmel said. “You can’t just stroll in here and say, ‘I can yodel now,’ and then not yodel. Although you realize if you do yodel, you will never be James Bond. James Bond does not yodel in any situation. So you have a huge decision to make here.”

“Which you would you like me to do?” Hiddleston asked.
“I’d love you to yodel, I really would,” Kimmel replied.
Hiddleston obliged, launching into a version of Williams’ song “Long Gone Lonesome Blues,” yodeling and all. Watch the full clip below.
