Who’s hosting the iHeartRadio Music Awards? One whispered name: Derulo.
Singer Jason Derulo will serve as emcee for the third iteration of the awards show. Set at The Forum in Los Angeles, Derulo follows Jamie Foxx as the second-ever host.
Zayn, Chris Brown, DNCE, Fetty Wap and Demi Lovato join the show’s roster of live performers, already filled out by Justin Bieber and Meaghan Trainor. Pitbull and Maroon 5 will perform live from the Capital One JamFest in Houston, where the NCAA Tournament Final Four will be held. More performers will be announced in the future.
Last year, Derulo had another monster single in “Want to Want Me.” The Everything Is 4 track peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“iHeartRadio has been such an important supporter of mine, and I’m thrilled and honored to be hosting this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards,” Derulo said in a statement. “2015 was an incredible year for so many talented artists. It’s going to be a great night of celebration and performance for music fans all across the country, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.”
“Over the past four years we have seen Jason evolve into a global superstar,” iHeartMedia President of Entertainment Enterprises John Sykes said in a statement. “When we were choosing a host, there was no doubt in our minds that Jason was the man for the job.”
