Consider your summer TV schedule officially monopolized.
CBS has announced return dates for Big Brother and Zoo, as well as premiere dates for event series BrainDead and American Gothic.
The Julie Chen-hosted reality show kicks off with a two-hour premiere on Wednesday, June 22, and will air on Thursdays, Sundays, and in its regular one-hour Wednesday time slot after that. All. Summer. Long.
BrainDead is a comic-thriller hailing from Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King that is quite the departure from the long-running series they’re known for. Set to debut Monday, June 13, BrainDead is “set in the world of Washington, D.C., politics that follows Laurel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer who discovers two things: the government has stopped working, and bugs are eating the brains of Congress members and Hill staffers.” Aaron Tveit (Grease: Live), Danny Pino (SVU), and Tony Shalhoub also star.

The network’s other summer event series, American Gothic, stars Juliet Rylance, Antony Starr, and Justin Chatwin, and is produced in association with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television. The show “is about a prominent Boston family reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst is linked to an infamous string of murders,” reads a network release. “As shocking secrets from the past and present are revealed, their mounting suspicion and paranoia that one of them is a killer threatens to tear the family apart.”
Finally, Zoo, entering its sophomore season, is based on the best-selling novel by James Patterson and stars James Wolk, Kristen Connolly, and Billy Burke. Season 2 debuts with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, June 28, before moving to its regular time slot on July 5. “In season 2, the danger escalates as the animal mutation moves to phase two, and they begin attacking infrastructure and creating deadly environmental phenomena in an effort to make the planet uninhabitable. Also, the team discovers a shocking mutation that threatens the life of one of their own.”
