Three more actors are joining Fox’s 24 reboot — including an Emmy-winner best known from ABC’s Scandal.
Dan Bucatinsky (The Comeback) has joined the almost-certain-to-be-greenlit 24: Legacy pilot in a series regular role, along with Coral Pena (Blue Bloods) and Charlie Hofheimer (Mad Men). Bucatinsky’s Scandal character James Novak was famously killed off on Scandal in 2014 after he won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor for the role.
They join previously announced cast members Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto, Teddy Sears, Anna Diop, and Jimmy Smits.

Bucatinsky plays a communication analyst at the Counter Terrorist Unit, and has enjoyed Rebecca’s (Otto) trust. He is unhappily paired with a bright, young computer analyst (Pena), who is self-taught and eager to prove she’s better than others. Hofheimer plays Eric’s (Hawkins) former partner in his Army Ranger unit, now suffering PTSD.
None of the original 24 cast is expected to appear in the new version of the show, which stars Hawkins and Otto as co-leads fighting domestic terrorist threats. If given a series order, 24: Legacy expects to play looser with the original show’s distinctive “real time” format, with a tighter 12-episode order instead of 24 episodes.
