Syfy has set premiere dates for the second season of trippy time-traveling series 12 Monkeys and new alien drama Hunters, the network announced at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Thursday.
12 Monkeys will return Monday, April 18 at 9 p.m. ET for a 13-episode second season. The series stars Aaron Stanford as a weary time-traveler sent back to the past to prevent a plague from destroying the world. In the first season, Cole sought out the help of virologist Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull), who was sent to the future in the season finale (More on that here). Inspired by Whitley Strieber’s best-selling novel Alien Hunter, Hunters tells the story of Baltimore FBI agent Flynn Carroll (Nathan Phillips), whose search for his missing wife leads him to a highly classified government organization, the Eco-Terrorism Unit, which tracks and fights alien terrorists. Britne Oldford and Julian McMahon also star.
Hunters hails from Walking Dead’s Gale Anne Hurd and Natalie Chaidez, who was the showrunner on the first season of 12 Monkeys. The 13-episode first season debuts Monday, April 11 at 10 p.m. ET on Syfy.
