Justice is still two months away from dawning, but Justice League Part One, the first installment in Warner Bros.’ 2017 multi-superhero two-parter, is already adding cast members.
EW has confirmed that Amber Heard is in early talks to join the cast of the Zack Snyder-directed team-up movie. If she signs on, Heard will play Mera, the love interest and eventual wife of Aquaman (Jason Momoa). The news was first reported by Variety.
According to early reports, Heard would also appear in Aquaman, James Wan’s standalone movie that is set to hit theaters on July 27, 2018.
The character Mera has a long history within DC Comics, making her first appearance in the May 1963 issue of Aquaman. Her powers are comparable to her husband’s, with the added ability to change the density of water, turning it solid and shaping it as she desires.
Justice League Part One opens in theatesr on November 17, 2017. Part Two will follow in June 2019.
