Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer reinforced their best friendship at the Golden Globes.
Sure, they’re working on a script together. There’s talking the talk, but the duo walked the walk — literally — coming out on stage together at Sunday’s ceremony.
Host Ricky Gervais introduced Lawrence and Schumer on stage as best friends upon their request (or risk punishment) to tease their respective films Joy and Trainwreck.
Lawrence introduced herself as J-Law, the effortless nickname bestowed upon her. But Schumer tried to make A-Schu stick with limited effect. “Amy, you just can’t give yourself a celeb nickname,” Lawrence said. “It’s got to come naturally.”
Schumer didn’t miss a beat. Usually they just call me —” she said, the last word getting bleeped by censors.
After admonishing a picture-taker in the front row, Lawrence spoke on something more serious. “As women in Hollywood, people have a lot of preconceived notions about us,” Lawrence said.
“Yeah, they’re just like, ‘Oh Jen, Amy, you’re so pretty, and everyone likes them, and wants to hang out with them,'” Schumer continued. “‘They seem so fun to be around, and ooh they should be models…'”
