Actor-writer-director-producer Tyler Perry got to add “singer” to that list of hyphens on Friday’s edition of The Tonight Show when he played Spin the Microphone with host Jimmy Fallon and Broad City stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer.
The foursome took turns spinning a microphone, and the person it landed on had to then sing a song selected at random.
Jacobson delivered the opening performance, which was Paula Cole’s “I Don’t Want to Wait.” When the mic landed on Perry’s name next, he was given “Can’t Feel My Face” by the Weeknd and gamely (if not always successfully) tried to hit the song’s high notes — while also displaying some Drake-style “Hotline Bling” dance moves.
