Alanis Morissette is back to tell readers what they oughta know as the new advice columnist for The Guardian. Morissette will take over the gig from actress Molly Ringwald starting with Jan. 16.

The rock singer launched her own self-help podcast last year called Conversations With Alanis Morissette, and has written essays on her website on occasion. She also told The Guardian that she was considered the “family therapist” growing up: “That was the role I took on, because I suppose I had this combination of intuition and empathy.”

So, should you buy a lottery ticket at age 98? Should you write a Missed Connections post on Craigslist? Ask Alanis.
