Ruta Sepetys announces 'Salt to the Sea' tour -- exclusive

Good news, Ruta Sepetys fans: Not only is the author’s new World War II novel, Salt to the Sea, nearly here (out Feb. 2) — but EW can exclusively announce that Sepetys will embark on a three-week national book tour as well.

Salt to the Sea follows four refugees hoping that the Wilhelm Gustloff will carry them to freedom. Unfortunately, as we know from history, the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustloff is one of the worst maritime disasters that ever occurred. Sepetys explains this nearly-forgotten event even further in a video below. Check it out, then see if she’s coming to a city near you:
