Maya Rudolph returns to 'Saturday Night Live' for Bronx Beat

NBC

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler may be the stars of Sisters, but more than a few of their fellow Saturday Night Live alums help round out the cast, including Maya Rudolph. So, when Fey and Poehler returned to Studio 8H to host SNL on Saturday, it only made sense that Rudolph would stop by to make an appearance.

Rudolph first took center stage as a tipsy lounge singer in an earlier sketch, but she helped close out the episode by bringing back Bronx Beat. There, Poehler and Rudolph once again reprised their roles as Betty and Jodi, the two heavily accented housewives who hate everyone and everything, giving a 2015 twist to the sketch as the pair complained about everything from Star Wars to ISIS. And as Rudolph started ranting about Wookiees, you could see the usually stoic Poehler repressing a giggle.

Later, Fey popped in as Betty’s cousin Karen, who has an even stronger Philly accent — and who maybe isn’t so good at crafting those Christmas ornaments she sells on Etsy.
