PJ Harvey has announced that she will release her ninth studio album next year. The still-untitled project follows the English art rocker’s most recent album, 2011’s Let England Shake.
Harvey’s sessions for the album were well-documented, because they took place in public. In January and February of this year, the artist recorded performances as part of an art installation called Recording In Progress at London’s Somerset House. Attendees could observe Harvey’s process through one-way glass as she worked with longtime collaborators Flood and John Parish.
