Hamilton star Jonathan Groff teaches Stephen Colbert his King George walk

After a brief stint away from the Hamilton stage to film the Looking movie, everyone’s favorite King George (Jonathan Groff) has returned to his loyal, royal subjects — along with his walk, a strut so epic even Beyoncé wanted tips. So when Groff appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, who could blame the talk show host for wanting a few tips from the pro himself? 

Groff reveals that part of the inspiration for his walk came from the fact that his original crown (which broke while he was away) was so heavy, which, along with his costume, forced him to learn how to walk carefully. Ever the patient teacher, Groff guided Colbert in learning how to strut in a way worthy of Queen Bey’s attention — and Hamilton creator-star Lin-Manuel Miranda, who might just be Groff’s biggest fan.
