Star Wars: Carrie Fisher, Ellen DeGeneres sell Force Awakens tickets on the sidewalk

‘See? It’s not as popular as you think’

Forget galaxies far, far away — a Los Angeles sidewalk is the place to be.

On Monday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher stopped by to talk about reprising her iconic role as Princess-turned-General Leia. Fisher, who joked that she expected the original movies to be “bigger,” has no doubt that The Force Awakens will live up to the hype.

“I know this one’s going to do well, too, because I’m psychic,” she deadpanned.

To give the movie one final push toward a successful opening weekend, Fisher and DeGeneres hit the streets to give out tickets for opening night. The pair stood by the side of the road holding signs and wearing Leia’s signature side buns.

“Carrie Fisher and stupid hair, again!” Fisher exclaimed.

The idea was to exchange the tickets for cash that would then be given to charities — real charities, not the fake ones Fisher made up on the spot — but by the end of the day, they’d accepted in exchange everything from sweatshirts to a headstand (executed while humming the Star Wars theme). One lucky winner even got selfies with both Fisher and DeGeneres. Check out the full segment below.
